Care for older adults has been the responsibility of family members and was provided within the extended family home.
Increasingly in modern societies, care is now provided by state or charitable institutions.
The reasons for this change include shrinking families, longer life expectancy and geographical dispersion of families.
Palliative care improves and enhances the quality of life of patients and that of their families who are facing challenges associated with life – threatening illness.
Palliative care involves a range of services delivered by a range professionals that we, our team tries to provide in every way possible which includes physician, nursing ,support workers, paramedics, physiotherapist and volunteers in support of the patient and their family.
Hospice and palliative care both try to provide a better quality of life and relief from symptoms and side effects for people with a serious illness.
Both have special care teams that address a person's physical, emotional, mental, social, and spiritual needs. Hospice care often includes palliative care, but they are not the same thing.
